With law enforcement resources stretched thin handling protests and emergencies, Chicago private security companies have stepped up

Demands to defund the police are trending and the City of Chicago is not immune to the civil unrest the country has seen all summer. As protestors storm the streets of Chicago after a police shooting on Sunday, Chicago security guard companies are fielding more calls than they can handle to protect residential area and businesses amid the protests. Michael Evans, CEO of USPA Nationwide Security, said, “While our Chicago branch cannot service every request, we are focused on residential security services, where we can mitigate the damage to local Chicago residents and their families.” Evans is describing his USPA Nationwide Security, Chicago branch’s residential security division, who services properties in the State of Illinois to include Chicago with guard services, firewatch and armed security.

Sondae Esposito, Vice President of USPA Nationwide Security told us, “With police resources stretched thin, security guard services have become the front line of protection in Chicago neighborhoods.”

CBS News reported, “Early Monday, shots were fired at police and officers returned fire, but no injuries were reported. Police Superintendent David Brown said it was “an incident of pure criminality” that was prompted by the shooting of a person by police the previous day in the city’s Englewood neighborhood. Brown said a heavy police presence is expected in the downtown area until further notice.” “This was straight up, felony criminal conduct,” said Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. “This was an assault on our city.”
