It’s summer, and what better way to kick off the sun-filled excitement than with an outdoor event. What should you do to set up? What should you grab? Well, hold your horses cause right below is a list of necessities for summertime outdoor events.
Music
When hosting an outdoor event, you want to ensure that it isn’t silent. Whether the air is filled with country tunes from a cheap speaker or a guitar and a live band, music needs to be in the air. The size of the event should reflect the type of music provided.
For example, if you have an outdoor wedding, a couple of cheap speakers won’t do the trick; you are going to want a band and a stage. But, if you’re hosting a family barbeque, a couple of speakers will be perfect.
Fire
Almost everyone loves a good campfire, and they gravitate towards the fire as the night progresses. The darker it gets outside, the more people you will find at the campfire. Also, a campfire is the perfect segway into dessert. People will start to get hungry again later in the night, so having S’mores readily available by the fire is a great way to keep your guests from being hungry. Also, there is always one person who knows how to play the guitar at a campfire, and it makes for a great ending to a great night.
Grill
A big part of hosting any event is providing food for your guests. You don’t want people to go hungry. When you host an outdoor event, it is almost a tradition to have someone operate the grill and eat grill food. That being said, you will need to pick up hamburgers, hotdogs, fries, propane, and everything else that goes along with making grilled food. Some of this stuff might not be easy to get, especially if you don’t have a local propane supplier. You might have to buy an entire new propane tank instead of filling one you already have up.
Drinks
There should be a range of beverages at your outdoor event for all ages. Most people over 21 will most likely bring their own alcoholic beverages, but having enough drinks for people is a necessity. Also, ice and solo cups would make your life a lot easier, so you don’t have to worry about picking up bottles or aluminum cans once the event is over.
Games
Most people at outdoor events love to sit and talk, but some don’t know how to turn off their energy. For those people, you should have some sort of game set up. Some great lawn games that you can pick up for a good price are cornhole and can jam.
Conclusion
It is time for you and your family to get outside and enjoy the weather with other friends and family. Recently, it has not been easy to see the ones you love, so don’t take this summer for granted and spend every second of it with the people you care about.
