Write It Out

When you are first thinking about doing a big project, your brain might feel completely filled with ideas and plans. Help your mind to slow down and make sense of the goal by writing down these thoughts and putting them into a coherent plan which you can adjust as you go.

Make sure you give yourself a clear pathway of attack and follow the more common rules, such as starting one room at a time and beginning with the rooms you perhaps use the least, such as a spare room.

Get Your Packing and Storage Sorted in Advance

It is extremely easy to underestimate how much stuff we actually have in our house, which means that you will more than likely have to take a few more trips to purchase some more boxes and packing materials. That being said, that does not mean you cannot do your best to get everything as prepared as possible before you begin.

Look for deals on storage boxes, go to your local malls and stores to collect cardboard boxes that are not being used, and if you are desperate and want a cheaper option, then trash bags can work well too for certain items such as clothes. Make sure to put valuables and breakables in suitable containers to avoid any accidents in the transition, and choose from reputable moving companies to make sure all of your items get to their destination safe and sound.

Label Your Boxes

It can be easy to convince yourself that you are definitely going to remember what is in each box when you move into your new place but trust anyone when they say, you will not. Not only that, but moving days can be exhausting, and the last thing you want is to be trying to find your cutlery for the evening takeaway and having to dig through several boxes to no success.
Labeling your boxes in as much detail as possible can save literally houses of rummaging and frustration trying to find the items you need when you need them. Color coding them with boxes or lids can also help determine which box belongs to which room in the house, so you can move them to their rightful place as soon as they are in the house.

When organizing for a move, remember to take breaks, eat properly and stay hydrated!
