Attih Ekpenyong, popularly known as Attih Soul, is a Nigeria born Singer and Songwriter, based in Barcelona, Spain. In June 2012, he graduated from the University of Calabar Nigeria with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. Attih Soul started singing in 2012 and participated in various singing competitions as Voice of Cross River, Nigerian idol among others.
Over the years, he gathered lots of experience from performing at various live events. In 2017, Attih Soul travelled to South Africa for his first international concert, after which he was called upon to write and perform the theme song for Nigeria’s Democracy Day on May 29th 2017.
This event was held at the Presidential Villa and Attih Soul was honoured to have performed before the President of Nigeria, his entire cabinet and dignitaries from all over the world. Also in October 2017, Attih Soul put out his Debut Single: Say You Love Me, which created a lot of buzz, got a lot of airplays in radio stations across Nigeria and South Africa. Say You Love Me stayed at the top of CoolFm Charts for two months in a row and also won Attih Soul the Best Soul Single the 2017 edition of the HSM Awards, held in Lagos, Nigeria.
In 2018, Attih Soul put together a team of musicians (The A Team) and performed at the ”World Music Day” music festival at the ”French Institute” in Nigeria. ”Attih Soul and the A Team” were the obvious Crowd favourites and were voted the ”Best Performing Group” of the Festival. Still on 2018, ”’Attih Soul and The ‘A Team’ were invited to co-headline a concert at the French Institute with French Techno Band ”Soft Machines”. In March 2019, ”Attih Soul” released his Second Single: ”Scared of Beautiful”, which also got lots of airplays on radio stations around Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Ghana, South Africa and China.
This song also topped CoolFm charts for another 2 months. Attih Soul has also performed as an opening act for famous Nigerian singers such as ”Davido, Falz, Teni, Jesse Jags, Timi Dakolo, Styl Plus” and many more. Attih Soul has so far had a promising Music career. However, in October 2019, Attih Soul decided to relocate to Barcelona, Spain to further pursue his musical career. While in Barcelona, he released a new single titled Karma, along with the video. Karma has since become an audience favourite, as they often sing along whenever Attih Soul performs it. He has since been reported to have performed at a lot of concerts, both as a solo act and with his band:
“The Blues Gamblers”, where he is the Lead Singer. Attih Soul has fast become a household name in Barcelona and Spain in general. In May 2020, Attih Soul registered for the International music festival: “Road to Yalta” and was among the final participants selected from all around the world. In September 2020, Attih Soul performed at the finals of the Road to Yalta Music Festival, which held in Yalta, Russia.
His outstanding performance not only made him a fan favourite, but also caught the attention of Russian Music Legend, Lev Leshchenko who gifted Attih Soul with a Gold plated microphone, awards of excellence and a cash gift as he dubbed him “The Golden Voice from Nigeria”. Attih Soul is currently working on his first studio album and information to this regard would be made available soon.
