 JIM CORBETT NATIONAL PARK :

This tiger reserve is India’s first-ever tiger reserve. It was established in 1963. The reserve has nurtured more than 200 tigers. It is also called Corbett National park. It is located in southern Uttarakhand, North India. It is 255 km from the capital of India, Delhi. This is a premier spot for watching the ferocious tigers.

RANTHAMBORE NATIONAL PARK :

This park is one of the largest amongst all other parks. It is located in Rajasthan, Northern India. This park is situated in the district of Sawai Madhopur. It is over 130 kilometers from Jaipur. Earlier, Ranthambore National Park was one of the prime hunting spots for the ‘Maharajas’. It is a major wildlife tourist attraction in Rajasthan.

GIR NATIONAL PARK :

Gir national park is also known as  ‘Sasan Gir’  is a forest as well as a wildlife sanctuary. It is located near Talala Gir in Gujarat, North India. It was established in the year of 1965. The total area of this park is about 545 sq. meters.

KANHA NATIONAL PARK:

Kanha National park is situated or located in the Maikal range of the Satpuras in Madhya Pradesh. It’s popularized as one of the best tiger reserves in the world.

Kanha National park was known as a reserve forest in the year 1879, later in the year 1933 it was declared to be a wildlife sanctuary, and then in 1955, it was upgraded as a national park.

It is oneof the finest and the best wildlife destinations in the world. The Kanha National park is spread across an area of 1945 sq km.

BANDHAVGARH NATIONAL PARK:

Bandhavgarh National park is located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh is a popular spot for tiger spotting. Kanha National park is spread over 712 sq km. This park has the largest biodiversity and in 1993 it was declared as a tiger reserve.

The park got its name from the most popular hill in the area. According to the Indian epic Ramayana, it is said that this hill was given to Lakshmana by Ram to keep an eye on Lanka(Sri Lanka).

PENCH NATIONAL PARK

Pench National park is located in Madhya Pradesh. This National park was established in the year 1975 and covers a total area of 257 sq km. The Pench National park derived its name from the Pench river which divides the park into almost 2 equal halves.

It was first known as a sanctuary, and then it was later upgraded as a National park in 1975. It was later given the name of a tiger reserve in 1992.

SUNDARBANS NATIONAL PARK:

Sundarbans National Park is located in West Bengal. This is a part of the Sundarbans of the Ganges delta. This delta is filled with mangrove forests. Sundarbans National Park is one of the largest reserves for the Bengal tigers.

This National park was first known as a wildlife sanctuary in the year 1977. Later in the year 1984, it was upgraded as a National park. The delta is adjacent to the Sundarbans reserve forest in Bangladesh. Sundarbans National park is designated as the Ramsar site from 2019.
