When celebrities wear the same dress and the comparison arises spontaneously
If showing up on the red carpet and discovering that another star has the same dress is one of the most feared fashion nightmares by celebrities, even wearing the same outfit after some time can prove to be a potential disaster, because the comparison with the wearer takes better immediate and spontaneous. In reality, the common suit is often very good for both, as the next cards also confirm.
Jamie Lee Curtis chose the total-red look (including high heels) for Halloween Horror Nights 2018 at Universal Studios Hollywood on September 14 last year. Three weeks later, at the premiere of the film “Beautiful Boys” in Beverly Hills, the young actor Timothée Chalmette showed off a more modern and relaxed version of the same outfit, combining it with a pair of white sneakers.
On the evening before her wedding, celebrated at Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018, Meghan Markel wore Roland Mouret’s midi-dress with a pair of ice high heels. Three months later, actress Jennifer Garner copied the Duchess of Sussex’s look when she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame: in that case, Garner highlighted the asymmetrical neckline of the dress, completing the outfit with a pair of shoes in the same color and with the strap and keeping the minimal accessories. Renee Zellweger Wore Jason Wu To Palm Springs International Film Festival. Two years later Kylie Jenner and Ashanti wore the same shiny dress as Bellman: the first at the Met Gala 2016, while the second in some Instagram shots of March 2018.
Same coat for two: Christina Aguilera flaunted Stella McCartney’s dressing gown coat on January 16, 2018, pairing it with shiny boots, goggles and hat. Meghan Markel chose him instead two days later for the visit to Cardiff, Wales, made with Prince Harry, preferring however a more sober look. To emphasize the punk hint of the Scottish dress worn at a Golden Globe after-party in January 2017, Kathryn Newton played on accessories, while in December of the same year Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett preferred to focus on makeup.
There are 11 years between the two photos, but the mini dress open on the back is the same: Bosworth was the first to wear it, combined with a pair of heels, on the red carpet of “Superman Returns” at July 2006; Kendrick on the other hand sported it with high-heeled boots, up to the thigh, for the first of “Pitch Perfect 3” in December 2017.
Even male stars copy themselves: see to believe the eccentric plaid dress worn on the same evening of 5 December 2017 both by Nanjiani (for the 60th Anniversary Awards Night of SFFILM) and by Jonas (for the first Parisian of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. The two actresses opted for the same shiny and sumptuous mini-dress not to go unnoticed: the “Private Practice” star paired it with a pair of metallic sandals for a pre-Emmy party in September 2017, while in November of the same year Menzel completed it with a belt and black heels at the premiere of Coco.
